- Elves: [immortal] elves are a fair, tall, and majestic species of bipedals with large, curious, slanted eyes and long, willowy bodies. They are cautious and avoidant of intruders by default, and very protective of their own. While highly intelligent--arguably the most intelligent species that exists--they are not very versatile and tend to stay where they were born their entire, indefinite lives. Elves are extremely agile and fast, naturals with tools and weapons, and have a sharp, quick wit combined with genius intelligence.
- Fairy-folk: [immortal] Small and delicate, fairy-folk (pixies, fairies, leprechauns, elflings, etc.) are mischievous but mostly harmless. There are many different kinds of fairy-folk, and while it is nearly impossible to distinguish between one or the other they get very offended if you get their specific breed wrong. Typically, they possess flight, manipulation and natural magic. (ie. no chanting or rituals)
- Half-Beasts: [mortal] typically can move from bipedal to quadrupedal with little effort, Half-Beasts, also know as anthros, are on par with humans (who evolved from a certain kind of ape) on an evolutionary scale, but more rare and have evolved from many different places in the animal kingdom. Though their early development is very similar to a human's, they can live up to around 200 years and age slowly after they've reached maturity. Normal abilities for a half-beast vary from animal to animal, but there is universally enhanced athleticism, agility, and awareness.
- Human Beings: [mortal] bipedal creatures with few talents and no fur, but very creative and inquisitive. They stand on average around 5'8", have two arms and two legs, two eyes, hair on the tops of their heads, no tails, and come in a variety of pigments and features. Reach sexual maturity at around 12 years, stop growing at about 21, and die around their 80th year of life. Very few abilities, but more adaptable than most species.
- Lycans: [mortal] cursed individual who turn into ravenous, illogical beasts on the night of full second moon, Lunam. Usually this curse is passed down through generations until the ancestor of the one who cursed the family lifts it. They are virtually identical to their respective species until Lunam is full; during this time, they have claws and large, sharp jowls that could swallow a man whole, stand in a crouching position on their hind legs, and keen constantly for food and mates. They are very dangerous and it is advised to stay away from a turned-lycan.
- Nephilim or Demons: [invunerable] creatures of manipulation and cunning, they aren't heartless; they can develop relationships and they have the capability of love, but they're less inclined to feel consequences and guilt--sort of like sociopaths. They have the ability to take two forms; a concentration of negative energy, and a human form with up to six wings (they come in black, grey and red and can be either feathered or bony.) Their abilities include heightened awareness, manipulation, teleportation, and energy-draining.
- Seraphim or Angels: [invunerable] heavenly bodies that can take both a corporate form and and incorporate form, angels are divine creatures of neutral good, protectors and guiders by instinct. Though they have the capabilities to make mistakes and learn from them, they have a heightened sense of foresight that, when coupled with their endless compassion, allows them to make fewer grievous errors. They usually come in human form and emit a soft, white radiance. They can have up to six dove's wings, three on each side, that come in white, gold, or dark brown. Typically an angel has superior awareness, foresight and divination, intelligence, and the ability to fly.
- Undead: There are three types of undead; reanimated corpses, (the body,) spirits, (the soul,) and vampires, (both.) Considered frightening by most they are often avoided.
- Undead (Reanimated Corpses): [ephemeral] reanimated corpses--or zombies, if you will--are mindless creatures that do exactly what the necromancer who reanimated them orders them to do, and while frightening they are not diseased nor violent; even if ordered to attack they are slow and clumsy and can be easily disengaged. They will usually stay in existence until their summoner releases them or until the flesh has rotted from their bones to the point that their joints become disconnected, and they fall apart. They have no special abilities aside from being reanimated flesh.
- Undead (Wraiths, Dreads and Spirits): [immortal] for whatever reason they've come back, they terrify almost everyone; even vampires seem to avoid contact with them. These are unrested souls who roam the earth in a cloud of confusion, sadness, and sometimes anger. The only way to "kill" one is to awaken them from their state of constant self-reflection and misery and help them reconcile their regrets, after which they will move on to the afterlife. Normal abilities for a wraith include incorporeal phasing, weak telekinesis, invisibility, transparency, and psychic attack.
- Undead (Vampires): [immortal] Far more intelligent than reanimated corpses and more coherent than wraiths, these are the only type of undead that can be born as a natural creature rather than a shadow of a previous life. The ones who are turned are usually far less powerful than pure-blooded vampires. Pure-blooded or not, all vampires require life-sustaining liquid from "living" creatures and are fatally anemic. The only way to kill a vampire is to pierce its heart, then burn the body while they are incapacitated. A normal vampire has heightened awareness, agility and strength, dampened regenerative abilities, and stealth. A pure-blood has everything that a normal vampire does, yet heightened further, with body contortion, shape-shifting, and internalized flight.
I'll probably add more later. Suggest any you want added.
