CHARACTER SHEET:
*Name: Elsha
*Gender: Technically Female - Asrai are only female.
*Age: Under a century - Asrai don't keep track of the specifics, so she doesn't know it.
*Species: Fairy-Folk (specifically, an Asrai fairy) - See link here - first on the list.
Age of Appearance: Teens.
*Year: 1st year.
*House:
*Power: Sonic Scream - When Elsha screams, or her voice gets louder than normal, it's decibels above the acceptable hearing level. Breaking glass, the force causing things to move, busting ear drums... It can be quite violent, so she stays quiet.
Asrai Characteristics: Immortality, Lack of Aging, Webbed hands and feet for improved swimming, vulnerability towards sunlight (unlike the tales, it burns, not melts), ability to turn into water (a defense mechanism), Attraction (People inclined towards women will instantly become obsessed with her if they see her in her entirety), Ice-Cold touch (If she touches you, that spot will never be warm again), Night Vision (they can see perfectly in the dark).
*Appearance: Elsha's appearance is definitely... unique, even for someone attending Celeste. Standing at slightly over a foot, the diminutive Asrai is all angles - her blue skin stretched taut, curves but straight lines, with large pupil-less green eyes that dominate most of her face, her nose and mouth quite small in comparison. Those alien features, coupled with her odd skin color, delicately webbed hands and feet, the lack of any body fat at all on her, is striking enough, but that doesn't take into account her almost seaweed-like hair, draping loosely around her shoulders and looking as though it truly is the plant itself, nor the fact that her skin is not a single shade of blue, but rather a myriad of colors. It looks as though it's being viewed from underwater, with dark patches and tendrils standing out prominently, as if shadows are being cast.
Her mouth lacks lips, and when it parts - which is not often - it reveals sharp teeth similar to that of a sharks', coupled with a pure black inside instead of the humanoid pink. Her hands and feet - which are, as stated, webbed - are long and spidery, a little less than double the length of the average human's, blending into the webbing near the very end to make it easier to swim, but other than that, and her blue, fin-like wings on her back, her proportions are the same as a human's. If she puts on a simple dress, or you see her from the neck up, it's easy to see why the legends say what they do - a beautiful young woman.
Without a dress, though, in her usual, un-clothed state? She appears very distinctly as one of the Fair folk - despite the fact that her body is female, it's also very androgynous - not a scrap of hair anywhere, chest... barely there and only for show, and the lack of reproductive organs is evident. However, now that she is forced to be out of her typical water home, these are features very few see. The sunlight burns her, dreadfully, and too much will kill her, so she is forced to be completely covered nearly 24/7. A grey cloak covers her, with holes cut just for her fin-like wings, with long grey-socks on her feet, customized grey gloves for her hands - which give them a very odd shape, given how her hands are - and a hood that can pull over and cover her face. She typically removes the hood in the classroom or when she's inside, having retreated to a dark corner of the room, but for the most part, she is unseen.
Perhaps it is better that way.
*Height: 1'4"
[Note: I am placing all of the physical description into one category, to better express the full description. It can be then put into small categories if necessary, but with how I write it out, it's more efficient this way. Thanks!]
*Personality: Quiet, Kind, Loyal, Playful, Hard-working
*Flaws: Unwilling to speak up, Wary of People, Consistently Nervous, Fearful, When she's angry, without any sort of rationality, Stubborn
*Likes: Water, Reading, Music, Flying, Cold
*Dislikes: Warmth, Talking, Human Food, Humans in general, Light
Optimist/Pessimist: Either or. It can vary.
Pastimes: Reading, Swimming, Dancing - is considering trying singing, but it sounds weird above the water.
Quirks: Sits and Listens without identifying herself - Has a fascination with Human Hair.
Pet-peeves: People touching her. Anyone looking down on her because she's small. People who get her species wrong. (It's okay if you don't know - but don't you dare assume.)
MB-TI Type: INFP.
*History: The moment that Elsha formed, on the day that every Asrai came to be, though years separated them, deep in the darkest parts of the Ocean, the Keeper knew that she was not to stay with them. It was marked, ever so clearly, on her spine, glinting even in the depths, and from her very first breath, very first flutter of gills, Elsha had learned that she would be different.
The largest, most immediate was that she would be learning the Human Tongue, and how to read their tongue, as well - the Asrai had no need to read and write, so she would be surfacing and learning to write, too. It wasn't until she had achieved a handle of decades that the largest, not-quite-immediate aspect of her difference was learned: Her Voice. It had been a yelp as one of her clanmates tugged on her wing, but it intensified, loud and heard far away, hurting those nearby, echoing through the water and knocking down rocks and stunning fish and-
After that, she stayed very quiet. Still, she was happy. Elsha kept her voice quiet, went for lessons with her Keeper, and played among her clanmates. The Asrai knew that she would have to leave to be among the Humans someday - and didn't that that thought terrify her - so far now, she would relish the time that she had with her clanmates, all of them. It... No, she didn't want to leave them, leave them and her Keeper, but-
The time came, and Elsha found herself wrapped up to help protect, and whisked away.
